Diet Coke "Float"

I won't lie, I'm a sucker for ice cream. I can't keep it in my house because I will literally start eating it straight from the carton. Bad idea!

Since summer is the time to enjoy ice cream and floats, I thought I'd share one of my treats! I don't know if anyone else does this or if I'm crazy for dreaming it up, but it's delicious!

Pick your favorite diet soda (or regular if you prefer), pour it into a glass and let the fizz settle. Once it settles, add two tablespoons of regular half-and-half (the h&h will cause the soda to fizz again, so if the soda is still fizzing pre-h&h, it will fizz over...and fast!) and stir. It tastes like a vanilla coke float! If you care about the sugar and calories (I don't...I had to go look at the h&h carton to find out the following info!), it's 40 calories, 0 grams of sugar and 3 grams of fat. A great alternative to an ice cream float, I'd say!

Happy summer, all!

  1. Yum, what a clever idea! I loooove coke floats, but can't have them as often as I'd like to (i.e. constantly!) I'll have to try this out.
